Midway Loli Meet

Following up on the facebook page discussion...  I asked a friend to use her much better google-fu to try and figure some things out for a midway loli meet.  This is what she came up with.

Links galore!

.....................................~*~.....................................

SWANSEA
(2 hours from Hobart // 2 hours from Launceston)

- Historical buildings to look at including Morris' General Store.
- Swansea Bark Mill Museum
- Kate's Berry Farm
- Gallery One Nine
- The Ugly Duck Out Gallery

http://www.discovertasmania.com/au/product_page?a=54604

ROSS
(1 hour from Launceston // 1.5 hours from Hobart)

http://www.think-tasmania.com/tag/ross-tasmania - interesting blog which mentions Ross
http://www.australianexplorer.com/tourist_attractions/ross.htm

- Antiques and Treasures at Ross
- Classwood
- Ross Female Factory Site
- T Spot
- Tasmanian Wool Centre
- Ross Bakery

There are other food places, but not really mentioned on the internet.

LONGFORD
(probably would be nice when warmer, but close to Launceston. Nice gardens)
(2.5 hours from Hobart // 0.5 hours from Launceston)

- Brickendon Colonial Farm Village
- National Rose Garden (Woolmers Estate)
- Woolmers Estate (Closed this June to August for maintenance)

HAMILTON
(maybe when the weather is better, nice gardens)
(2.5 hours from Launceston // 1 hour from Hobart)

- Jackson's Emporium
- Glen Clyde House (+ another link) - Gallery, gardens & cafe
- Prospect Villa and Garden (+ another link)

.....................................~*~.....................................

By the end of this, my vote probably goes to Ross for it being the shortest equal-ish distance between Hobart & Launceston + things to do.
Everyone else?
Second vote goes to Swansea.  I know it's further out, but berry farm!!!
